IT WAS SACRED LAND OF THE PEOPLE NOW KNOWN AS WYALUSING ROCKS, AND THE E.D.N. HAS been TRYING TO BUY IT BACK. THEY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PURCHASE SOME OF IT TO DATE. STILL THERE IS MUCH TO BE DONE TO FULFILL GRANDFATHER'S DREAM. A MEETING PLACE, OFFICES, A MUSEUM AND A VILLAGE WILL BE THE GOAL.. A PLACE FOR THE PEOPLE TO LEARN, PRAY AND BE TOGETHER. | Chief Mike "Medicine Shield" Taffe |
| Chief Mike “Medicine Shield” Taffe was ordained as Tallak of the Eastern Delaware Nations on December 27th, 1992. The blood ordination ceremony took place at the gravesite immediately following the funeral of Chief Wayandaga. Upon the completion of this ceremony Chief Medicine Shield became our newest “Grandfather” and the Chief of our tribe. |

| Traditional Nanticoke Medicine Man who was a direct descent of the Sachem (chief) Wi-Daag, who signed the first treaty with William Penn. Chief Wayandaga served the Native American community in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and was the founder of the United American Indians of the Delaware Valley and Eastern Delaware Nations. |
